Tonight, Australia’s Next Generation of Legal Talent Takes Centre Stage

Tonight, law students and young lawyers from across Australia will come together in Sydney for the LawUno Australian Young Lawyer & Law Student Awards 2026.

Held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth from 6:30pm, the awards recognise emerging talent across the profession, from law students and graduates to young lawyers already making an impact within their practice areas and communities.

But tonight is about more than who takes home an award.

The legal profession often celebrates success once people reach partnership, the Bar or senior leadership. These awards were created to recognise people much earlier in that journey, when careers are still being built, networks are still being formed and opportunities can make an enormous difference.

Finalists will be joined by law firms, legal professionals, students, mentors and industry leaders for an evening celebrating the future of Australian law.

The College of Law Australia joins the event as Principal Partner, with LawY and hrmattr as Premium Event Partners.

LawUno Insight

Tonight isn't simply about recognising achievement. It's about recognising potential.

Every senior lawyer started somewhere. Every partner was once a junior. Every leader in the profession was once trying to find their place in it.

Tonight, the spotlight belongs to those still building what comes next.

To every finalist: congratulations. Tonight is yours.
